About Us

Vet2U is a fully mobile veterinary surgery aiming to provide a caring and professional service tailored to every pet and their owner. By visiting your home for consultations and provision of care and surgery in our state of the art vehicle, we are able to provide a stress-free atmosphere for you and your pet.

Kate Higgs BVetMed GPcert(SAM) MRCVS

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2009 and have worked in small animal practice since. Small animal medicine is my passion and I have completed a general practitioners certificate in this field. Having previously only worked in a static practice, I saw first-hand the need for an ambulatory service, be it for frightened cats and fearful dogs, or mums who struggle with children and pets, to elderly clients that may have mobility issues.

Kerry Storey RVN

Since qualifying in 2003, I have worked in many multi-discipline small animal practices. I believe that Vet2U is truly beneficial to pets and their owners and I am passionate about helping the animals of East Kent in the stress free environment of their homes.

John Higgs

I worked as a Physiotherapist in the NHS from 2010 to 2018, but in March 2018 the opportunity arose for me to officially support Kate and her practice. During my training and work in the NHS, I have gained a multitude of skills that allows me to facilitate the practice from an administrative and PR point of view.

Glenn Storey

I started working for Vet2U in September 2017 and my main role is practice support, which includes deliveries, vehicle maintenance, ordering and stock control, processing blood sampling and any other help that is required…leading to my unofficial job title ‘Dogsbody’.

Our Services

Vaccinations & Microchipping

We offer a full range of vaccinations and flea & worming treatments. You also have the option of signing up to our Pet Healthcare Plan, which includes annual vaccinations, flea & worming treatment and much more.

We are acutely aware of just how stressful it can be for both pet and owner to visit a conventional veterinary practice, not only on the journey but also in the waiting room. Examining your pet in their home environment decreases their stress levels, makes them less nervous and they feel more comfortable.

We are able to perform most types of surgery within the mobile unit, from routine neutering (castrations and speys), lump removals and dental treatment, to more in depth abdominal surgery such as intestinal surgery, surgical management of womb infections and more.

When it comes to dental care, we believe that prevention is better than cure. However if there is a large accumulation of plaque on the teeth we recommend a scale and polish. Your pet will require a general anaesthesia and this will be performed in our mobile surgery.

Diagnostic Imaging

Our fully mobile veterinary surgery has digital x-ray facilities and a portable ultrasound to aid us in our diagnosis. The portable ultrasound also allows us to perform pregnancy scanning at your home.

End of life care

Do you feel that the time has come and you have to say goodbye to an old friend? Is the thought of taking them somewhere adding more stress to the emotion? We are here to help and support you at this difficult time.

Questions you should ask

What are your charges?

Our consultation charge at your home £40. Follow up consultations are charged at £20.

A full list of our pricing can be found here

How soon can I be seen?

If you are registered with us and your pet is suffering an emergency, you should call us immediately. We will triage your pet over the phone and if the condition is deemed to be potentially life threatening/life altering, then we will aim to see you on the day. Emergencies always take priority with us.

If you are not a client of ours at the time of the emergency, we may suggest that you go to your current vet at the time of the emergency if we do not have availability.

We generally have appointments available on a weekly basis, but some periods may be busier than others. Therefore, you may expect to wait a couple of weeks around busy periods.

What animals do you specialise in?

Our main patient base is cats and dogs.

Do you cover Out of hours?

No. As we are a single vet practice, it is not possible to provide high quality of care 5 days a week and cover out-of-hours. We therefore use VetsNow, who are based in Canterbury at 34 New Dover Road, CT1 3DT. You can contact them on 01227 470033 during our out-of-hours.

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash, card and BACS payments. The team will always have a card terminal available in order to do a secure card transaction. If you would like to pay by BACS, ask the team for details at the time of the appointment.

We unfortunately do not accept cheques or American Express.
